Woodland Lace: A Practical Beauty

Patterns available on Ravelry
Accessories available on Etsy

Woodland1

Wrap yourself in luxury and style with Woodland Lace, an asymmetrical shawl that combines a pattern of narrow stripes with leaf lace patterns.

I chose the colors specifically to evoke an autumn woodland color scheme, and the yarn because I like the lightweight substance and the stitch definition it provides.

Woodland4

You’ll find lace elements in the 3 panel insets, and along all 3 edges – the final edge being a knit-on lacework edging.

You’ll need some lace-knitting experience to knit this shawl, although I wouldn’t describe the pattern as difficult.

Woodland3

The amount of yarn required is approximately 1 full 100g skein of Araucania Botany Lace color 2118 (solid) and approximately 4/5 of 1 100g skein of color 1652 (ombre).

Overall dimensions of this generously sized wrap:: 60x42x46 inches (152.5×106.5×117.75cm)

If you don’t have the time to knit this shawl, treat yourself or someone special to the hand-knit accessory, available for purchase in my Etsy shop.

Happy Knitting – and Happy Holidays!

  1. I am knitting woodland lace shawl .I have problem with first lace inset on row 6 you have k1,k2 tog,yo,k3 p6, p3 .l only have p2 before ( ) . Edith mallet.

    1. Hello Edith,
I’m pleased that you’re working on this pattern and are making progress!
I’ve checked the stitch count in the pattern and it should be fine.
Could you double check that you have 122 stitches at the end of Row 5 – if you do, you should be set up OK for Row 6. If not, maybe you missed a YO on Row 5.
Check this first and if this doesn’t help let me know and I’ll go over Row 5/6 stitch-by-stitch with you.
      Regards,
      MikeH
